Two brothers have been charged by police investigating an acid attack in Southampton.

Geoffrey Midmore, 26, and Billy Midmore, 22, both from London, are accused over the attack on Carla Whitlock, 37, who was left with severe injuries to her face, eyes, neck and arms.

She was taken to hospital following the incident outside the Turtle Bay restaurant in Guildhall Square on 18 September. She has since been discharged.

Geoffrey Midmore has been charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and conspiracy to commit GBH with intent. His brother has been charged with conspiracy to commit GBH with intent, Hampshire Constabulary said.

Both men will appear at Southampton magistrates court on Thursday.
