Eight people were injured when a double-decker bus hit a number of cars before crashing into a supermarket in Coventry city centre, police say. Two people have died after a double-decker bus crashed into a Coventry supermarket, West Midlands Police have said.
The bus struck a number of stationary cars and a lamp-post in Hales Street before crashing into Sainsbury's, in Trinity Street, at 18:00 BST. An eight-year-old boy - a passenger on the top deck of the bus - and a woman pedestrian, thought to be in her 70s, both died at the scene.
West Midlands Police said three people were seriously injured and five others had minor injuries. Six others were hurt when the bus crashed into cars and then Sainsbury's in Trinity Street, at 18:00 BST.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said five people were taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire and a child was taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital. Witness Maneer Fiaz told the BBC he heard a long bang and then saw people running towards the scene.
