Two people have been killed after a double-decker bus ploughed into a Sainsbury’s supermarket. | |
West Midlands police confirmed that a boy of eight and woman were killed in the bus crash in Coventry. | |
The boy, from Leamington, was travelling on the top deck of the bus when it crashed, police said. The women, from Nuneaton, was believed by officers to be in her 70s and was a pedestrian in Trinity Street in the city when the incident happened. | |
A nine-year-old girl, also a passenger on the top deck of the bus, suffered serious injuries. | |
“A young girl had injuries to her face, head and right leg and suspected chest, abdominal and pelvic injuries. She was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital after she had been given blood, pain relief and was anaesthetised and her airway maintained,” a West Midlands ambulance service spokesman said. | |
