The three men got into an argument just before the shooting, which occurred about 7:45 p.m. in the 6800 block of Central Avenue Sept. 30, police said. Johnson and Lott, both of Northeast Washington, were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

James, who was shot in the hand, sought treatment and was arrested after being released from a local hospital, police said. He is in jail on a no-bond status, authorities said.

Detectives were looking for a possible second suspect who might have been connected to the shootings, police said.
