Police identify woman found dead after crashing into Md. building
Version 0 of 1. Authorities are still calling the case of a woman who crashed into a District Heights apartment building and found suffering gunshot wounds a death investigation. Police identified the woman Monday as 32-year-old, Marquita Cherie Shalane Wimms. The medical examiner’s office ruled Wimms’s cause and manner of death as “pending,” Prince George’s police spokeswoman Julie Parker said. “We’re still processing the car and any evidence inside it as part of this ongoing death investigation,” Parker said. The car Wimms was driving crashed into a three-story building in the 1900 block of Rochelle Avenue at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Prince George’s fire spokesman Mark Brady said. Wimms was pronounced dead on the scene, and the crash displaced several residents from the building, Brady said. |
