Two South Korean teenagers visiting Virginia to tour American colleges were sexually assaulted in their hotel rooms, Prince William County police said.

The victims, who are 15 and 16, reported similar experiences. Each teen was sleeping in her room at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in the Manassas area when she awoke to find a man touching her inappropriately, police said. In both cases, the man left the room when the student woke up.

Jonathan Perok, a county police spokesman, said the two teenagers were students with a school group from Seoul touring U.S. universities.

The group stayed at the hotel Oct. 4, 5 and 6, Perok said. One girl reported being assaulted on the first two mornings of the trip, once around 5 a.m. and again around 6:15 a.m.

Perok said the student group has left Manassas to continue its college tour.

He said police do not suspect that a member of the school staff touched the girls, and they have not identified a suspect after interviewing hotel staff and other guests. One of the girls had her own room, and the other shared a room with other students, Perok said. In both cases, there were no signs that anyone forced his way into the room.

One of the teens said she could not see the man who touched her because it was dark. The other said he was a bald white man of medium size.
