Man shot by police after twice being tasered in Kilburn West London 'knifeman' shot and wounded

A man has been shot by police after officers twice used a stun gun on him in north-west London, police have said. A man thought to have a knife was shot and wounded by police on a London street after an attempt to Taser him apparently failed.
Officers were called to a disturbance at about 02:45 BST on Claremont Road in Kilburn and found the man, who was thought to have a knife. The Metropolitan Police said a Taser stun gun was fired after officers went to a disturbance in Queen's Park, west London, in the early hours.
He was tasered but ran off to nearby Kilburn Lane, where officers again used a a stun gun on him, with no effect. The man ran from Claremont Road to Kilburn Lane where a Taser was used again, before he was shot.
Firearms officers attended and the man was shot. He has been taken to hospital for treatment. The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is investigating.
Nobody else was injured during the incident and the Metropolitan Police's Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed. Police could not confirm how many times the Taser was discharged, saying it was now a matter for the IPCC's investigation.
