A man has died after his sports car crashed through a fence and into a field.

The driver, 52 and from the Faringdon area, came off the Longcot Road towards Shrivenham, Oxfordshire, in his silver Lotus Elise at 17:00 GMT on Saturday.

He was taken by air ambulance to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he was later pronounced dead.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses in the area at the time to come forward.
