Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny has visited the site where 10 people, including five children, died in a fire in the Republic of Ireland on Saturday. The 10 people, including five children, who died in a fire at a travellers' site in the Republic of Ireland on Saturday have been named locally.
All of those killed in the blaze in Carrickmines in County Dublin were from two traveller families. The victims were Willie Lynch and Tara Gilbert, their daughters Kelsey and Jodie, Thomas and Sylvia Connors and their children Jim, Christy and six-month-old Mary.
The victims were a couple and their three children, another couple and their two children, and a relative. Jimmy Lynch, 39, a brother of Willie, also died in the blaze.
One child who died was a six-month-old baby girl. Two adults and a child who were injured remain in hospital. Two adults and a child who were injured remain in hospital.
It is understood the blaze broke out at a pre-fabricated building at the site. Sympathy
During his visit, Mr Kenny offered his sympathy to the families of those who died. Post-mortem examinations of the remains of those who died have been carried out but it is expected to be a number of days before they are officially identified using DNA and dental records.
Earlier, he said that flags would fly at half-mast on government and public buildings on the days the victims' funerals take place. It is understood the fire broke out at a pre-fabricated building at the site and quickly spread to a nearby unit.
The names of victims will not be released until formal identification of the bodies has been completed and relatives have been informed. Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny visited the site on Sunday to offer his sympathy to the families of those who died.
