Hungary: European Parliament Lifts Immunity for Spy Suspect
Version 0 of 1. The European Parliament on Wednesday lifted the immunity of a Hungarian legislator suspected of spying on European Union institutions for Russia. Hungarian prosecutors said covert contacts between the official, Bela Kovacs of the far-right party Jobbik, and Russian intelligence officers were first detected in 2010. The decision will allow prosecutors to officially investigate and question Mr. Kovacs, who has denied the allegations. |
