Man held over passenger's crash death

A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after his car hit a tree, killing his 14-year-old passenger.

The youth was pronounced dead at the scene in Hodge Hill, Birmingham, just after 11pm on Friday.

West Midlands police have appealed for witnesses to the incident, which involved a silver Peugeot 206, to make contact on 101.
