Former Spanish king's gifted Ferraris to be sold by auction
Version 0 of 1. Two Ferraris that were given to the former Spanish king Juan Carlos are to be auctioned by the Madrid government, with starting prices of about €350,000 (£225,000) each. The two Ferrari FF four-seater models are on display this week for potential buyers. The finance ministry said the cars would be auctioned on 6 November. Bidders will have to put down deposits of about €17,500. The black and silver cars were given to the former monarch by the United Arab Emirates in 2011. The ministry said the king donated the Ferraris to the National Heritage institution in 2012, which passed them to the ministry. The money raised in the auction will go into state coffers. |
