Fraud suspects hunted in Australia mother-daughter murder case Arrest made for killing of Australia single mother
(about 11 hours later)
Australian police say they are hunting for fraud suspects linked to the murder of a young mother and her daughter. Australian police say they expect to charge a man with the murder of single mother Karlie Pearce-Stevenson.
The 41-year-old man was arrested in the NSW town of Cessnock at 16:15 local time (5:15 GMT) on October 28.
Ms Pearce-Stevenson's remains were found in the Belanglo State Forest, south of Sydney, in August 2010.
Her daughter Khandalyce's remains were found 1100km (684 miles) away in a suitcase near the South Australian town of Wynarka in July this year.
Police said inquiries were continuing into the death of Khandalyce.
The mother and daughter were last seen in November 2008, when Ms Pearce-Stevenson was 20 and Khandalyce was aged two.
Detectives say they both suffered "violent and deliberate" deaths.
