Ms Hoare also told jurors she had consented to a threesome with Mr Matthews and a friend, although she said it was Mr Matthews who was "more into" the idea. She denied watching pornography with Mr Matthews and said she did not know anything about a pornographic film found on his laptop about the rape of a young girl.
"I was always quite against it but he kind of persuaded me, to open up to the idea of it." Asked about her boyfriend's attitude to teenage girls, Ms Hoare said it was not just teenagers but was "mainly people younger than him".
Ms Hoare said while Mr Matthews could be "very funny" during their six-year relationship, he could also be controlling. She said Mr Matthews would occasionally make inappropriate comments about them, such as "I would give them a go".
She said he would control what food she ate and at times she would have to "beg" for it. Mr Matthews, of Hazelbury Drive, Warmley, South Gloucestershire, admits perverting the course of justice, preventing lawful burial and possessing a prohibited weapon.
She would also have to pay him so he would allow her to have cigarettes.
