Three robberies on, near Metropolitan Branch trail in NE Washington
Version 0 of 1. Three robberies were reported in the past seven days on or near one of the District’s major hiking and bicycling trails, and the police said they made arrests in all three. The first of the Metropolitan Branch Trail robberies occurred Oct. 24, behind the 700 block of Edgewood Street NE and on Monday another robbery occurred, no more than a block away, near 8th and Edgewood Streets about 6 p.m., the police said. A knife was shown, the police said. The next day, police said, a holdup occurred about 1:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of 8th Street NE. The location is within a block or two of the others, and also near the bike trail. Part of the trail runs on city streets, including 8th Street.. Police said one juvenile was arrested in the first two robberies, and a second in the last one. |
