Five injured in shootings across the District on Halloween night
Version 0 of 1. Five people were injured in four separate shootings across the District between Saturday night and early Sunday, D.C. police said. The victims included men and women, and the perpetrators — of varying ages — included two juveniles disguised in masks. In the first incident, which occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. Saturday, gunfire broke out in the area of 3600 22nd Street SE. One victim suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, while another was struck in the forearm, police spokeswoman Alice Kim said. Police initially were searching for a dark-colored SUV. Then, shortly before 11:30 p.m., a man was shot in the area of 3100 Apple Road NE, a short distance from the intersection of South Dakota Avenue and Bladensburg Road NE. The man was conscious and breathing Sunday morning, Kim said. Another shooting was reported about 1:35 a.m. Sunday. Police said a woman was shot near the intersection of 16th and V streets SE. She was conscious and breathing late Sunday morning, Kim said. Police were searching for a gray SUV driving toward Good Hope Road SE. Finally about 2:45 a.m., police said a woman was shot in the hip at 1100 Alabama Avenue SE. The woman was conscious and breathing late Sunday morning, Kim said. Police were searching for four juveniles in the incident – two of whom were wearing masks. No suspects have been named in any of the shootings. |
