A man found dead on the front steps of a townhouse in Woodbridge has been identified by police.

Gilbert Kinard, 48, was the victim of an apparent homicide by stabbing, Prince William County police said.

Police said that they do not know of any connection between Kinard and the townhouse on the 15200 block of Brazil Circle where he was found dead on Sunday morning. They said that they do not believe that his killing was random, but they have not named a suspect.
