The incident happened around 11 p.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of Clifton Street, according to Tim Wilson, a spokesman for the D.C. fire department.

Wilson said it took firefighters about 30 minutes to extract her. The woman had serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital. Authorities said it was unclear how the woman became stuck.
