Bus driver 'who disturbed remembrance service' suspended

A bus driver who allegedly refused a request to stop near a Remembrance Sunday service has been suspended.

Bus company Uno apologised for what happened and said the driver was facing a full investigation.

A video showing the incident, which happened in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, was posted online.

Witness Duncan Hogben said the driver was near the war memorial just as the two-minute silence started and "sounded his horn".

'Apology sought'

He said this happened after police first tried to stop the vehicle.

Mr Hogben added: "No-one in the village wants the driver to lose his job, but they just want an apology and for it not to happen again."

In the video, local residents are heard describing what happened as "disgraceful".

The bus company said: "As an expression of our regret, Uno will be making a donation to the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal."
