Two men shot, one fatally, on Clay Terrace in Northeast Washington
Version 0 of 1. One man was killed and another wounded in shootings Thursday morning on Clay Terrace in Northeast Washington, according to D.C. police. Authorities said that the shootings occurred about 11:30 a.m. and that one victim was found unconscious at the scene. He was pronounced dead, police said. The other victim, a police spokeswoman said, was wounded and taken to the hospital. Few details were available. The gunfire erupted in the 5300 block of Clay Terrace NE in a public housing complex just south of H.D. Woodson Senior High School. Bystanders captured the shooting on video. The District is in the midst of a spike in killings this year. Thursday’s incident brings to 142 the number of homicides in 2015, up from 90 at this time in 2014, a 57 percent increase. |
