The alarm was raised at about 1140 GMT on Saturday when the 33-year-old man fell in Coire an t-Sneachda, sustaining serious injuries. David Rainey, 32, from Royston, Hertfordshire, was seriously hurt while walking in Coire an t-Sneachda.
Less than an hour later he was rescued from the mountain range by an RAF Lossiemouth helicopter. The alarm was raised at about 1140 GMT on Saturday and he was rescued by an RAF Lossiemouth helicopter less than an hour later.
The man, who has not been named, was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where he later died. Mr Rainey was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness but was found to be dead on arrival.
