Three fatal shootings in the District in three days

Three men were shot and killed in three days in the District from Sunday through Tuesday, according to police. Two of the killings were in Northeast and one was in Southeast.

The latest shooting occurred Tuesday on New York Avenue NE about 10:30 a.m. police said.

Police said a man was found in the 1600 block of the Avenue with several gunshot wounds. He died at a hospital. His name was not immediately available.

The day before, police said, Frederick Etheridge,III. was found fatally shot in the 6000 block of Eads Street NE. Police said Etheridge was 28 and had no fixed address.

Police said Sharay Brittney Guy, 24, of Northeast, was arrested Tuesday, and charged with second degree murder.

. Tjhe first of the shootings occurred about 4 p.m. Sunday in the 2900 block of Second Street SE. The victim was identified as 24-year-old Onyekachi Emmanuel Osuchukwu, III, of California.

So far this year 145 homicides have been reported in the District, for a rate of about one every two days.
