Adele has talked candidly about body image issues, saying that she likes to remind herself that there are more important things going on in the world.

The singer, speaking to The Spectrum’s Jenny Eliscu ahead of the release of her third album 25, said: “I do have body image problems, for sure. But I don’t let them rule my life, at all.”

She added: “There’s bigger issues going on in the world than how I might feel about myself and stuff like that. There’s only one of you, so why would you want to look like everyone else? Why would you want to have the same hair style as everyone else and have the same opinions as everyone else?”

It’s been a busy week for Adele, whose album is due to be released on 20 November. Last night one retailer was reported to have mistakenly uploaded two-minute clips of each of the album’s 11 songs.

Adele also moved to dismiss rumours that she turned down a collaboration with Beyoncé. Speaking to Zane Lowe on internet radio station Beats 1, she said: “Just to clear up, I would never be so disrespectful. I would never disrespect her like that. I’m such a fan, oh my God!”
