Man, 49, held over Shirley murder

A 49-year-old man is being questioned by police about the murder of Shirley Finlay in Ballymena, County Antrim.

The 24-year-old woman was strangled. Her partially-clothed body was wrapped in a duvet and left in a car park where she was found on 19 September.

The man was taken to Antrim Police Station for questioning.

Miss Finlay, from Crebilly Road in the town, had a history of mental problems.She was murdered just days before her 25th birthday.
