Man fatally shot in Southwest Washington
Version 0 of 1. A man was shot in the chest and killed Thursday morning in Southwest Washington, according to D.C. police. The shooting occurred about 5 a.m. in the 100 block of Danbury Street SW, in the Bellevue community near Blue Plains and the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. The victim, who died at an area hospital, has been identified as Kenvontae Jones, 19, of Southeast. There have been six homicides in that community this year, compared with three at this time in 2014. There have been 147 homicides in the District this year, up from 92 at this time last year, a 59 percent increase. |
