Portraits of black Harvard Law School professors defaced after campus rally

Version 0 of 1. Harvard Law School says portraits of black faculty members have been defaced a day after a campus rally for black students. Several portraits were discovered Thursday with black strips of tape placed diagonally over the black faculty members’ faces. The portraits were on the first floor of Wasserstein Hall, which houses two hallways with more than 180 framed portraits of law professors. About six portraits were discovered with tape on the picture frame glass. The tape has been removed. In response to yesterday's protests, cowards have covered the faces of Harvard Law's Black professors w/ black tape. pic.twitter.com/IuNd9ckucj Harvard officials say they do not know if there’s a connection between the vandalism and a Wednesday rally on campus supporting black students across the country. Harvard police are investigating but have declined to comment. The school’s dean scheduled a community meeting Thursday in response to the discovery of the defaced portraits. |
