The Poor Roberts Foundation will provide 100 turkeys; the two churches will provide 300. Gift cards or checks may also be donated. In a reusable sturdy grocery bag with handles, please put two cans of beans, two cans of corn, two cans of sweet potatoes or candied yams, two cans of cranberry sauce, two boxes of instant mashed potatoes, two boxes of stuffing mix, two cans or packages of gravy and a nonperishable dessert, such as a cake mix and icing. Sunday, 1:30 p.m.: Living Savior Lutheran will host the CROP Hunger Walk, in which area residents of different faiths, cultures and ages will walk together for 3.7 miles or a shorter “golden mile” to support local and global efforts to fight world hunger and provide disaster relief. Proceeds will be given to the relief and development efforts of Church World Service, Ecumenical Community Helping Others (ECHO) in Springfield and Western Fairfax Christian Ministries in Chantilly.
