Women’s basketball: Freshman guard Dionna White was named Big East freshman of the week for the second consecutive week after the Hoyas (4-1) won the TD Bank Classic in Burlington, Vt., this past weekend. Additionally, sophomore guard Dorothy Adomako earned a spot on the Big East weekly honor roll.

White earned a spot on the all-tournament team by averaging 17.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, five steals and five assists against Quinnipiac and St. Francis (N.Y.), a pair of teams coming off NCAA tournament appearances.  Adomako was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 17.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, two steals, two assists and a .517 shooting percentage in the two wins..

Junior forward Faith Woodard was named the tournament MVP after averaging 12.5 points and six rebounds, while shooting at a .706 clip and hit her only three-point attempt.

The Hoyas (4-1) have already tied their win total from a season ago and surpassed their road wins from 2014-15. The team is in the midst of a five-game road swing.

Men’s soccer: Coach Brian Wiese was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year on Monday. It is the second time that Wiese has won the award and the third in program history.

Football: Senior wide receiver Harrison Glor and junior defensive end Phil Novacki were named to the Patriot League all-Academic Team when the league office announced honors last Wednesday morning. Both earned their first selection to the all-academic team. Glor, a human sciences major, is a three-time Patriot League academic honor roll selection. Novacki, a finance major, is a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection and a member of the dean’s list.

Men’s lacrosse: Coach Kevin Warne has announced the team’s 2016 schedule, set to begin on Feb. 20 against Notre Dame in Kennesaw, Ga. Overall, the Hoyas will match up with five teams that played in last spring’s NCAA tournament, highlighted by a pair of Final Four participants.

Warne, the 2015 Big East Coach of the Year, helped the program to a six-win improvement and a trip to the conference championship game against eventual national champion Denver. GU will host the Pioneers at Cooper Field on April 2.
