D.C. police investigate homicide in Southeast Washington
Version 0 of 1. A 23-year-old man from Southeast Washington was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon, according to D.C. Police. The incident happened around 1:37 p.m. in the 3500 block of East Capitol Street SE. Police received a call for a shooting and when they arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Michael Tyrone Jones Jr. was pronounced dead on the scene. Police said they are investigating the case and a reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for any information. Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099. The death comes as the city’s homicide number is over 150 for the year so far, according to by the Washington Post. That’s compared to 105 by this time in 2014. |
