A snow-covered bicycle has been picked as the image for Jeremy Corbyn’s first Christmas card as Labour leader. Jeremy Corbyn has broken with tradition and opted for an official Christmas card that does not include a photograph of himself or his family.
Details of the card, which also shows a red telephone box, were released by the party. The leader of opposition’s card, which was revealed on Monday, features a stock image of a bicycle and red telephone box covered in snow. The Labour leader is a keen cyclist.
Corbyn, a keen cyclist, has also chosen to use a Merry Christmas message – which politicians have often shied away from in recent years. The photo’s caption on the Getty Images database reveals it was taken outside Queensway tube station in London in 2009,
Corbyn decided not to feature in person, unlike David Cameron. when the UK was experiencing its heaviest snowfall since the 1990s.
The prime minister is using a photograph of himself and his wife, Samantha, outside 10 Downing Street in the spring sunshine, taken shortly after claiming victory at the general election in May. The back of tCorbyn’s card features the party’s logo with the traditional red rose replaced with a holly leaf and berries.
