Father questioned on child deaths Tragedy family thanks community

Police are continuing to hold a father on suspicion of the murder of his two children at their Denbighshire home. The family of two children asphyxiated at their home have thanked the local community for its support as police continue to question their father.

The two children were asphyxiated, it has been confirmed. A post mortem examination showed they died from asphyxiation.
North Wales Police were granted a warrant on Tuesday morning to question their father Perry Samuel over the deaths for a further 36 hours. Police have until 2300 GMT on Wednesday to continue questioning their father Samuel Perry over the murders.
No further detail about how the children died has been released, but police said they were not drowned or strangled. They must then release or charge him, or apply for extra time for further questioning.
Caitlin and Aidan's family issued a statement through North Wales Police thanking locals for their "support and kindness".
It said: "The family would like to send a 'thank you' to friends and all the people of Bodelwyddan for all their support and kindness over the last few days, which has been greatly appreciated. Floral tributes and cards have been left in Coronation Close
"In particular, they send thanks for respecting their privacy at this very distressing time. The family hope that this will continue."
The children were discovered by two female police officers in the bath at the house in Coronation Close shortly before 2300 GMT on Sunday.
