A man working in Alexandria died when he fell off a ladder Monday.

Alexandria police spokeswoman Crystal Nosal said that the 51-year-old man, whom police have not named, was working on an outdoor project in a residential neighborhood when he fell.

Police are investigating what caused him to fall, Nosal said. He was in the 200 block of Gentry Avenue, and fell at 12:57 p.m.
