Man is fatally shot outside townhouse in Germantown, police say

A 30-year-old man was shot and killed Wednesday night outside a Germantown townhouse, Montgomery County police said.

The man was identified by authorities as Robert Wayne King of Frederick.

Police received calls about the sound of gunshots and responded to the 18600 of Sage Way about 7:15 p.m. Officers found King on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds, said Capt. Paul Starks, a police spokesman.

He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Police released no information about the case but were seeking witnesses to determine what led to the shooting, Starks said.

Authorities ask that anyone who may have information regarding the killing contact the Montgomery County Police Department’s major crimes division at 240-773-5070. Police said Crime Solvers is offering a reward of as much as $10,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect or suspects.
