Man charged after woman stabbed 17 times in Manchester

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed 17 times.

Police found the 25-year-old with wounds to her torso, hands and legs at a property in Manchester on Wednesday, following an abandoned 999 call.

She is stable in hospital after undergoing surgery, detectives said.

Antonio Francisco Neto, 45 and of Buile Street, Salford, will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
