Essex police have launched a manhunt after a woman was found dead in a house in Clacton-on-Sea. A man has been arrested after a woman was found dead in a house.
Officers were called to Old Road in the seaside town at about 10.50am on Friday after concerns were raised for the welfare of a resident. Inside they found the woman, believed to be in her late 50s, dead. The force said it was urgently trying to locate Scott Hilling, 25, and advised the public not to approach him. He is 5ft 6in and has “Hillen” tattooed on his neck and a tattoo of a cross on his left hand. They found the woman, believed to be aged in her late 50s, dead inside. Police said a 25-year-old man from Clacton was arrested in the town on Friday night on suspicion of murder and has been taken to Clacton police station for questioning.
A police spokesman said: “A postmortem to establish the cause of death has not yet taken place but police believe she was killed. A forensic examination of the scene is under way.
