Man stabbed in chest outside Stroud shop

A man is in a serious condition after he was stabbed outside a shop in Stroud town centre.

Police said the 40-year-old suffered a stab wound to the chest outside Tesco Express on Stratford Street at about 17:30 GMT on Saturday.

He was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where his condition has been described as serious.

Gloucestershire Police is appealing for any witnesses to the attack to contact the force.

The offender is described as a white male, in his early 20s, about 5ft 11ins tall, of medium build. He was wearing a black jacket and black beanie hat.
