Two people have been arrested after a shooting in a McDonald's car park. Two people have been arrested following a shooting in a McDonald’s car park in Hull, and are currently in police custody.
The windows were blown out of a blue Volkswagen Golf with two people inside while parked outside the restaurant in St Andrew's Quay, in Hull, police said. Shots were fired from a grey Volkswagon Golf at a blue car of the same make at around 11.30 this morning at the St Andrew’s Quay branch of the fast food chain, before the grey car fled the scene in the direction of Gypseyville.
The occupants were uninjured, while the suspects made off in a grey Volkswagen Golf. Despite the shots blowing out the windows of the blue car, its occupants were unharmed, although one witness received treatment for shock at the scene.
A Humberside Police spokesman said two people were in custody but added: “We know the registration plate of outstanding vehicle and offenders. Humberside Police tweeted that the suspect and offenders were all believed to know one other, adding that they had the registration details of the outstanding vehicle and offenders.
“Scene still closed for CSI opportunities. Suspect and offenders all believed to know one another.” The incident was attended by a firearms unit, police helicopter and support officers, with the scene still cordoned off to the public and specialist officers and a dog unit working on tracking down the occupants of the grey vehicle.
Humberside Police said a 999 call was made at 11.35am by a member of the public reporting a number shots being fired. In a statement, Humberside Police said: “The scene of a firearms incident remains closed for CSI opportunities, whilst specialist officers continue to search for the outstanding vehicle and the offenders of the grey coloured Volkswagen Golf.”
Video posted online showed armed officers approaching the blue Golf with guns drawn.
The spokesman said a member of the public received treatment at the scene for shock.
He added: “An outer cordon has been put in place around the scene of the firearms incident and firearms-trained officers, the police helicopter, specialist police dogs and many other supporting departments of the police are in attendance, tracking down the offenders.”
The Grey Golf made off from the scene, passing an Asda supermarket on Hessle Road, travelling in the direction of Gipsyville.
