Two District men were arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man during a suspected robbery in Fort Washington, police announced Monday.

Tyron Taylor, 29, and James Baskins, 25, have been charged with first- and second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Larry Ellis Jr., 33, according to Prince George’s County police.

Police found Ellis dead at around 4:40 a.m. Sunday after responding to the 3900 block of Kilbourne Drive for a welfare check. Officers found Ellis suffering from gunshot wounds outside, police said.

Taylor and Baskins knew Ellis and suspect the killing occurred during an attempted robbery, police said.
