Carl Boasman, group manager at the fire service, said: "Some children might have thought it a big adventure and some were shocked but none were harmed. The children are all okay."
River levels remain high following flooding over the Christmas and New Year period and around 15 roads across North Yorkshire remain closed.
Mr Boasman said it was essential motorists did not attempt to drive through flood water.
