A bus carrying about 30 passengers has become stuck in flood water on a minor road near York. Nearly thirty school children had to be rescued from a bus after it became stuck in flood water near York.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said it had crews at the scene helping passengers from the vehicle. North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said crews helped 26 children off the vehicle and on to another bus.
Firefighters from Huntington, Acomb and Easingwold are using water rescue equipment to reach them, it added. None of the children were injured and the school and bus company were working with police to inform parents.

Carl Boasman, group manager at the fire service, said: "Some children might have thought it a big adventure and some were shocked but none were harmed. The children are all okay."
River levels remain high following flooding over the Christmas and New Year period and around 15 roads across North Yorkshire remain closed.
Mr Boasman said it was essential motorists did not attempt to drive through flood water.
Further heavy rainfall on Monday virtually cut off the seaside town of Whitby where the fire service had to rescue two people from a car which became trapped by flood water.
