All areas of the UK were affected overnight by Met Office yellow "be aware" warnings for either ice or snow or both, except Wales, Northern Ireland, the Grampian region, and the islands of Orkney and Shetland. Fresh warnings of ice have now been issued for Sunday night and into Monday morning for most of Scotland and north-west and north-east England.
Most of the warnings expired at 10:00 GMT on Sunday but three for ice remain in place for areas in Yorkshire & Humber, East Midlands and East of England.
There are three categories for warnings - red, amber and yellow - with red the most severe.
