Prince George’s County police said they are investigating a homicide in the District Heights area. A man was fatally shot Monday in the District Heights area of Prince George’s County, the county police said.
Authorities said a shooting was reported around 4:45 p.m. Monday in the 1920 block of Rochell Avenue, a residential area off Route 4/Pennsylvania Avenue. The shooting was reported around 4:45 p.m. in the in the District 1900 block of Rochell Avenue, police said.
The location is in a residential area near Route 4, which is also known as Pennsylvania Avenue. .
When officers arrived at the scene they found a man suffering from a gun shot wound, police said. The man died later at an area hospital, police said.
Police did not release the name and age of the victim, pending notification of next of kin. Spokesman Tyler Hunter said police are working to determine a motive and a suspect in the case. The incident remains under investigation.
