Heathrow's T5 open to passengers Baggage problems hit T5 opening

Heathrow's new Terminal 5 has opened to the public as British Airways begins operating from the building. Heathrow's new £4.3bn Terminal 5 - used for British Airways flights - has opened, but many passengers faced problems with their baggage.
A BA flight from Hong Kong was the first to arrive at the £4.3bn facility. The first departure was at 0620 GMT, when a service left for Paris. A BBC reporter on a flight to Paris said no passenger bags had arrived. Luggage belonging to travellers landing in the UK also failed to arrive.
Both BA and the airport operator BAA are promising a better passenger experience and fewer delays. A BA Hong Kong flight was the first to land at the new terminal. The 0620 GMT for Paris was the first departure.
Anti-airport expansion groups took part in a "flash mob" protest at the terminal. BA blamed glitches with bags on problems with "staff familiarisation".

The airline also confirmed that one flight departed without its bags.
