Version 0 of 1.

Police in Montgomery County have released surveillance photos of two men who they say tried to steal money from a bank in the District and from another in Silver Spring.

One of the incidents happened Jan. 27 around 2:30 p.m. at a Capital One Bank in the 8600 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. Police said one of the men went up to a window where there was a teller and passed a note that demanded money.

The other man also came up to the teller window and acted as a lookout, according to police. The two left the bank and did not get any money.

About an hour after that incident, police said, they believe the men tried to rob a BB&T bank in the 3100 block of 14th Street NW in the District.

There is a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest and/or indictment, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-866-411-8477.
