Rupert Murdoch, the executive chairman of News Corporation, and the former model Jerry Hall were married on Friday at a centuries-old mansion in central London, weeks after announcing their engagement. Mr. Murdoch, 84, and Ms. Hall, 59, were photographed leaving Spencer House after the ceremony. Steven Rubenstein, a spokesman for Mr. Murdoch, confirmed that a civil ceremony had taken place and said there would be a larger service at St. Bride’s Church on Fleet Street in London on Saturday. It is the fourth marriage for Mr. Murdoch and the second for Ms. Hall. Mr. Murdoch, a prolific commentator on social media, shared his feelings on Twitter. He split from his third wife, Wendi Deng Murdoch, in 2013 after 14 years. He was previously married to Patricia Booker, an Australian, and Anna Torv, a journalist. Ms. Hall’s marriage in Bali to the singer Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones was annulled in 1999. The couple announced their engagement in January in the classifieds of The Times of London, which he owns, in an ad that listed the names of the couple’s 10 children between them. Mr. Murdoch, who is also co-executive chairman, with his son Lachlan, of 21st Century Fox, and Ms. Hall began dating last year, after they were introduced by one of his sisters and a niece in Australia, according to The Times. They went public with their relationship in October. They were spotted as a couple at the Rugby World Cup final at Twickenham last October, and at the 73rd Golden Globes ceremony in Los Angeles in January. |
