Palestinian gunmen and Israeli forces have clashed in the central Gaza Strip, near the Kissufim crossing with Israel. Palestinian militants say they have killed an Israeli soldier and injured others in an ambush in the Gaza Strip.
The al-Jazeera Arab TV network has reported that an Israeli soldier was killed in the clash. There has been no immediate comment from the Israeli military authorities.
In a joint statement, Palestinian militant groups including Hamas' military wing have said they ambushed the Israeli forces. The clash is reported to have happened near the Kissufim crossing with Israel in central Gaza during an Israeli military incursion.
