The superdelegates thing is weird to me. Either you nominate your candidate on a convention, without popular vote, or you do the primary tour, and nominate on the popular vote. Bernie Sanders' surprise competition kind of gives off the idea that democratic primaries are "for show", unless the party itself is divided between candidates.
