Five people have been killed and three injured in a shooting at a backyard party near Pittsburgh. Five people have been killed and three injured in a shooting at a house party near Pittsburgh on Wednesday night.
The suspects are still at large, according to local media. Allegheny County Police said they are still searching for two gunmen, who carried out the attack around 11pm.
Four women and one man were shot and killed in the residential neighborhood in Wilkinsburg, about 8 miles east of the city. Four of the victims three women and one man were found dead at the scene, officials said in a press release. A fourth woman was transported to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Mercy, where she later died.
In a briefing, county police said they were called to a shooting at what appeared to be backyard party or cookout just before 11pm.
Eight people had been shot, according to police, with four killed at the scene. The four others were transferred to hospital, where one woman died. Two men are in a critical condition and one woman is stable in hospital.

Police said that ballistic evidence suggested that two gunmen were involved, using two different weapons, opening fire from an alley behind the address. When partygoers attempted to flee into the house, one gunman fired at the porch, where four were killed, the briefing said. “I heard at least 20 shots,” a witness, Kayla Alexandra, told WPXI. Tina Shelton, 38, was identified as one victim who died at the scene. Her father Vernes Pugh said she was the mother of five children, WPXI-TV reports.
Several reporters in the area tweeted photographs of ambulances and police cars. Dozens of shell casings littered the pavement of an alleyway at the scene, media reports said. Kayla Alexandra, a witness who lives nearby, told the station that she heard “at least 20 shots.”
Wilkinsburg is a borough of about 16,000 people, with many lower- and middle-income residents, demographic data shows.  Wilkinsburg has a population of nearly 16,000 people, and is located six miles away from Pittsburgh.
