Murder inquiry after man stabbed Police launch fifth murder probe

The fatal stabbing of a man in the street is being treated as murder. A man stabbed to death in a north London street was the fifth murder victim in the area since January.
Detectives began an investigation after the victim, aged in his mid-20s, was found lying in a road in north London. The man, aged in his 20s, was found lying in Bedevere Road, Edmonton, shortly after 2100 BST on Monday.
Officers said three men were seen running from the scene in Bedevere Road, Edmonton, shortly after 2100 BST on Monday. Police said they know the identity of the victim but are awaiting formal identification. A post-mortem examination will take place soon.
Police said they believe they know the victim's identity, but he has not been formally identified. Post-mortem tests are due to be carried out. The murder is the fifth in Edmonton since the start of 2008 - four of the previous victims were teenagers.
"We retain an open mind re motive [for the killing] at this very early stage," said a spokesman. University student Michael Alexander Jones, 18, was found beaten and stabbed to death in his Edmonton home last month.
Officers have appealed for witnesses to the incident and of the three men, described as black, running from the scene. Two weeks earlier, Ofiyke Nmezu, 16, from Upper Edmonton, died from a head injury during an assault in Fore Street.
There have not been any arrests, but inquiries are continuing. No arrests
Boduka Mudianga, known as Louis, was stabbed to death on 21 January.
And Henry Bolombi, 17, was stabbed to death in Plevna Road, hours after celebrating the New Year in central London.
Regarding the latest murder, a police spokesman said: "We retain an open mind re motive [for the killing] at this very early stage."
Officers have appealed for witnesses to the incident and of the three men, described as black, seen running from the scene.
So far no arrests have been made over the latest incident. Inquiries are continuing.
