Two people found dead in a flat in Gillingham are believed to be a mother and daughter, Kent Police have said. A post-mortem examination on a mother found dead at a flat in Gillingham has failed to establish the cause of her death, Kent Police have said.
Emergency teams went to the property in Trafalgar Street on Monday, after residents raised concerns. The bodies of the woman and a child, who police believe was her daughter, were found at the flat in Trafalgar Street on Monday.
The deaths are being treated as unexplained and officers remained at the scene on Wednesday. Police said further tests on the woman were needed but the death was not being treated as suspicious.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out on the woman later. Tests on the young child will take place on Friday. A post-mortem test on the child is scheduled for Friday.
