A driver was killed Tuesday in a two-car crash in the Woodbridge area of Prince William County, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 4:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of West Longview Drive, the county police said. They said the name of the man who died was being withheld until his relatives could be notified.

The driver of the other car was seriously injured and taken to a hospital.

Police said the crash was under investigation and no cause was given. The road is in a residential area and is lined with houses.

“Cars fly up and down this road,” a woman who lives on West Longview near the crash site said Tuesday night.

The woman, Lynn Oden, said the road is used as a shortcut between the two ends of Woodbridge.

Her husband, Billie Dale Oden ,said he had “ seen 15 cars totaled in front of my house” in the past 47 years.

“I’ve seen kids get hit on bicycles in front of my house,” he said in a Facebook posting.”now I’ve seen somebody die,” he said.

He and his wife said the situation was particularly dangerous because a school is nearby. They said children often cross West Longview to get to the school, Marumsco Hills Elementary. Th

He and his wife also said drivers often swerve across the center line of the street while trying to negotiate a curve in the road. Two curves, each appearing to be nearly 45 degrees, are located close together near the crash site.
